โš ๏ธ There is widespread community transmission of COVID-19 in Iran. There have been many deaths. The health care system will likely struggle to cope with a large outbreak. Airlines are reducing or stopping flights into and out of Iran. Medical evacuation is not likely to be possible. If youโ€™re in Iran, leave while commercial options are available. Some countries have put in place restrictions on travellers coming out of Iran. The Foreign Minister has directed the departure of non-essential Australian embassy staff and dependants. The Australian Embassy remains operational. We've changed our level of advice for Iran: Do not travel to Iran due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The security situation remains volatile and there's a high risk you could be arbitrarily detained or arrested.

โš ๏ธ Authorities have confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Venezuela. Entry requirements for Venezuela have been updated. All travellers who arrive from Europe will be subject to mandatory self-isolation for 14 days. Flights from Panama and Dominican Republic to Venezuela have been suspended for 30 days, beginning 14 March 2020. We haven't changed our level of advice: Do not to travelย to Venezuela due to the unstable political and economic situation, shortages of food, water, medicine and petrol, and high levels of violent crime.
