There has been a significant increase in the level of violence with many deaths, injuries and arrests. On 7 April 2021, there were several small blasts in Yangon (including a shopping centre) from handmade devices. Protest activity is widespread with security services responding. Avoid all protests and areas of known and possible unrest. There have been widespread detentions, including of foreigners. may be at risk of arbitrary detention. If it's safe to do so, leave Myanmar by commercial means on one of the limited international flights departing Yangon. Contact airlines directly. A curfew is in place and daily internet outages occur across the country. If you're remaining in Myanmar, you should shelter-in-place. Maintain heightened security awareness, register with DFAT, monitor the media, and keep in close contact with friends and family.
